Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips

So yes the name is a little funny and gets an odd look everytime you mention it (quite often apparently in my case) and me and the girls at work have deemed it as amazing. I was recommended it in Spake NK after I originally went in to buy the Kiehl's lipbalm that I featured on my Wish List 16/12/12. But I've had the mango version before and hated the smell. Too fruity, I'm really not a fan of fruit smelling products. Shower gels are nice but it's too close to my nose on my lips. The lady who served me recommended using the Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips instead. It has a thick, stiff, odourless (almost) formula that you apply using your finger/cotton bud/brush. It warms up instantly and sits on your lips comfortably. It lasts for HOURS and I feel it slowly soaks in. It is a liiiiittle sticky but no more so than a cheap lipgloss. After it melts in it's actually quite nice and not too heavy. It also looks lovely and shiny on your lips without being too full on. I wouldn't wear lipgloss but this really adds a nice shine to make more of a 'polished' look. It is without a doubt, the HOLY GRAIL of all lipbalms. It gets rid of nasty peely skin on your lips after leaving it on for a couple of minutes and removing with a cotton bud so I CAN wear lipstick. My dry lips are one reason I don't wear lipstick as often as I'd like (every single day!) and now I happily can. It's £11.50 from Space NK and I would purchase it straight away if I lost it or ran out. You get 15ml worth so I personally think it's worth the money. It's an expensive purchase but a must have.  And a vain, superficial point: The tube is quite nice to have even though it has got stuck and needed warming up when I left it in the freezing stock room at work it's nice to have something smart and wipe clean. Not one of those ghastly vaseline tins that melt, freeze and stick together whilst been bashed about in your handbag.

Has anybody else tried this? Or any other recommendations? I'd love to know.

  1. haha I literally double glanced at the name! Nipple balm? Sounds interesting! I can't imagine pulling this one out at Uni to moisturise my lips, may have to give it a miss ;) But it does sound like it does a great job!
